Grid Details

There are only sixteen vehicles on the grid. It was another poor grid-setting session for Lewis Hamilton: following his result of twentieth and final in the previous race, resulting in an eighth position in the main race, he did not manage to advance of Q1 once more on the previous day. Ferrari have consequently adjusted to his setup and so he will start from the starting area.

Aston Martin's Lance Stroll and the Alpine pair of Pierre Gasly and Colapinto are all doing likewise.

Driver Comments

"We'll use the experience for the next day," states Isack Hadjar, 11th on the grid. Expect plenty of learning.

Team Standings

It's not all about the individual championship: The team have dominated the team championship but Mercedes, with a 40-point lead over their rivals, will be hoping to seal second place during this event. George Russell can help them achieve that from second place, and Kimi Antonelli will start just behind Verstappen.

Piastri was victorious then – as he did last year, as well. McLaren's Australian is attempting a hat-trick.

Alright, approximately twenty minutes to go till the short race begins. Barring disaster, it's greatest value is as an indication of what is to come, rather than significant in its itself, with just eight championship points available to the winner. However, second place here was enough for Verstappen to become champion two years ago.
